Alexandra Malamud
Associate
Alexandra Malamud, associate, plays a vital role in our matrimonial practice, contributing to the successful litigation of various family law matters, including divorces, child custody and support disputes, and equitable asset distribution negotiations. Since joining our team, she has demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to the needs of each client by creating compelling, detailed, and persuasive supporting motions and affidavits that have been pivotal in achieving clients’ aims during matrimonial and family litigation proceedings.
Alexandra earned her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law in 2025 and is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. During her first year in law school, Alexandra interned at Prizant Law, where she drafted affidavits in support of asylum applications and deportation defenses. Her start with immigration law put her on the path towards family law, and during her second year of law school, she worked as a student attorney at the St. John’s University Child Advocacy Clinic. There, Alexandra represented her child and teenage clients in both family and immigration court, in Special Immigrant Juvenile Status proceedings. The following summer, Alexandra interned at the non-profit, Shalom Task Force, where she worked directly with victim-survivors of domestic violence and drafted supporting motions and affidavits in support of high-conflict divorce and child custody disputes. Since joining our team, Alexandra has applied her past experiences working with children and domestic violence victim-survivors to provide compassionate and detail-oriented legal services, both when drafting motion papers and when meeting with our various clients.
Alexandra’s expertise in legal writing and motion drafting is rooted in her undergraduate education—she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Long Island University, at the Brooklyn campus, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class. Her writing and drafting proficiency was further reinforced at St. John’s Law School, where she served as a Legal Writing Teaching Assistant, as well as a Writing Center Teaching Fellow, while earning her J.D.
With strategic precision, outstanding organizational skills, and a client-focused mindset, Alexandra provides invaluable support to both the office staff and our clients. Her dedication to quality client services continues to drive the success of our matrimonial and family law practice.
